Seasonal and H1N1 Flu information
The Gallatin County Health Department has received a limited amount of H1N1 vaccine and have distributed the vaccine to the community physicians, who have been administering the vaccine to the specific target groups.
The target groups have been expanded:
- Pregnant women
- Persons who live with or provide care for infants aged <6months (e.g., parents, siblings, and daycare providers),
- Health-care and emergency medical services personnel,
- Persons aged 6months – 24 years, and
- Persons aged 25 – 64 years who have medical conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications.
The health department is expecting to receive small amounts of the H1N1 vaccine on a weekly basis, but we do not know how much or in what form the vaccine will arrive. At this time the Health Department does not have sufficient vaccine to hold a public clinic. Flu hotline for Gallatin County is 582-3117.
In Butte-Silver Bow County, the Health Department does not have any seasonal flu vaccines.
They do not have any vaccine clinics planned for the month of November.
The Butte-Silver Bow Health Department is working closely with area clinics to plan the distribution of the vaccine to the high-risk population. It is unknown at this time when the vaccine will be available.
